Relax and Enjoy the Beach!

To have energy on your vacation start your day with a breakfast that includes protein (skim milk, low-fat cheeses, eggs, ham or turkey) and carbs (whole grain cereals and fruit). Oatmeal is high in soluble fiber and with skim milk and fruit it´s a good way to begin the day. Eggs are an excellent source of protein and essential amino acids that help the body feel satisfied. Eating eggs in the morning diminishes hunger throughout the day.

To improve your digestion and prevent bloating on vacation, eat a yogurt every day. The lactobacillus in yogurt promote intestinal flora and keep your digestive system healthy which prevents bloating.

Eating a salad for lunch will help you feel light during the afternoon. Choose deep green leaves that contain more nutrients. A salad has vitamin k, fiber, potassium, calcium and phosphorus. Dress it with a little olive oil and lemon juice.

Beach tips:

  • Remember to stay out out the sun between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm, wear sunscreen at all times.
  • Keep your body hydrated. Carry a water bottle and drink water during the day.
  • Don´t forget to use sunglasses to protect your eyes from the harmful rays of the sun.
  • Wear your flip flops to avoid burning your feet.
  • Wear a hat to protect your face and your neck.

Have a great vacation!
