Fernando Torres

After waiting for many years, 2009 proved to be the year for Fernando Torres, as he was named one of the best goal scorers of the Premier League. With their red shirt and blue shorts, and Vicente del Bosque as their coach, Spain´s National Team will be a force to be reckoned with in the 2010 Soccer World Cup in South Africa.

Fernando Torres was born in Madrid, Spain in 1984. He´s nicknamed The Kid in England where he plays for Liverpool, and El Niño in Spain where he joins team mates: Iker Casillas, José Manuel Reina, Pique, David Villa and Xabi Alonso, in a Spanish dream team towards South Africa 2010.

He entered the Atlético de Madrid when he was only ten years old. In 2003- 2004 he scored a total of 23 goals for his team. In 2007, Fernando Torres became one of Liverpool´s best paid players. In the 2006 Soccer World Cup, he played with Spain´s National Soccer Team and scored 3 goals. Spain was eliminated by Portugal.

Great moments await Fernando Torres and his team as they prepare for 2010.
