Tulip Bouquets
71The Ultimate Spring Flower
Tulips or "tulipa" are a bulbous flowering plant. Tulips were brought to Europe from Turkey in the XVI century and today there is a permanent display of them in the Netherlands. They are always associated with spring and they make a wonderful choice of flowers for a spring wedding. Worldwide production makes them available year round, but tulips don´t like the heat. As the temperature rises, tulips open, invert, and loose their petals. However if you have a summer wedding and have your heart set on tulips, they must be kept cool all the time.
Although they are not the cheapest of flowers, you can save on a florists fee by making or having someone help you make your bouquet. When you bring them home, keep the wrapped, cool, expose the ends, give them a fresh cut and set them in water. To make the bouquet start with one bloom and keep adding around it, tie with a rubber band and decorate with a ribbon. Twenty to thirty tulps look best. Choose one color or a combination. Remember to keep the in water and cool right up to the minute you´re going to use it.
Tulips can be found in a variety of colors: purple, red, pink, yellow, white orange green; and in red-white, yellow-orange combinations. They are such a beautiful flower, that they don´t need much embellishment. A simple hand-tied bouquet of tulips tied with a beautiful ribbon is elegant and complements almost any wedding theme and dress. The can also be added to a combination of other flowers in a hand-tied or cascading bouquet to add flair and fashion. A simple bouquet of French tulip stems will look beautiful with a tiny belt of satin ribbon.
For a modern bride, a bouquet of red tulips or an extravagant combination of red and purple, can look strikingly elegant and will look amazing in the wedding pictures. If you´re having a hard time deciding on your wedding bouquet, you can never go wrong with tulips!
The beautiful bouquet of hand tied parrot tulips, a combination of orange and yellow flowers, will complement any bride getting married in the spring, after a long winter the colors will make everyone smile.
A bouquet of fringe Canova pink tulips is a great choice for a bride who is looking for something traditional with a twist.

I love these tulip bouquets. If I was young again, I would have these as my wedding bouquet - and no matter if it was a spring wedding or not :-) Very nice hub.
